Fall is my favorite time of year!!!! I love the leaves changing color, the cool weather, wearing scarves, plus my birthday is in October. But I really love fall because the best tv shows come on during this time of year (I have a weekly tv schedule lol). I was completely OBSESSED with the Tudors when it was on HBO, and I was sad when the show ended. And then REIGN happened to my life lol and all was right with the world again. Continue reading
Healthy hair grows and that is a fact but sometimes when we want to reach a particular longer hair length we must keep many factors in mind to achieve that length goal. Since I was a 3-4 years old to my early teens Ive always had long hair, and the longest its been is right above my booty around the ages of 12-14 years old, before I got into the habit of trimming layered styles into my hair every few months or so to add volume and definition to my natural curls. Now as an adult Ive learned a lot from my experience of losing my natural hair texture due to unhealthy, fried brittle hair from the use of over heat which gave me heat damage. I don’t know about you but whenever I get close to a celebrity (which has only been like 3 times) so when I had the chance to meet Angela Davis I FREAKED OUT!!! She is a very sweet, humble, and down to earth person; and I felt so honored to have met her especially since I wrote a report about her during my undergrad. She came to De Anza College to give a talk on Thursday April 16, and the auditorium was so packed unlike I have ever seen it before. There were people sitting in the aisles, on the stairs, and standing up; there was barely any room to walk.

It’s my stomach so I eat what I want. Enough of my babble and on to the post…The Euphrat Museum of Art has a brand show called Mooncakes, Churros, and Cherry Pie running February 2- March 19, 2015; and reception with artists on February 18, 5:30-7:30PM with free food!!!
To kick off my President Day’s weekend I went to see the @Large: Ai Weiwei at Alcatraz Island on Friday and I really enjoyed it plus it was a great excuse to spend the day in San Francisco lol. I went with my museum director and co worker Amy (we love seeing exhibits together) which was a great experience, and I had never heard of Ai Weiwei before. I also hadn’t been to Alcatraz Island since a elementary school filed trip and it was so much fun to reminisce on such a historic California landmark.
February is a special time for the African American community to celebrate our history, culture, achievements, and those who made a path for us. Black History Month is not only celebrated in the United States but also in Canada in February, and the United Kingdom in October. When Black History Month was first created in 1926 in the United States, by historian Carter G. Woodson and the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. They choose the second week of February to be Negro History Week, becuase that particular week is Abraham Lincoln’s birthday on February 12 and Frederick Douglas on February 14. Both birthdays African American communities have celebrated since the late 19th century. Continue reading
When I walk into a museum it gives me such an adrenaline rush seeing all the exhibits like I’m on a roller coaster ride, and when its over I need to go to another one lol museums are my own type of personal drug(if that makes sense lol). This Saturday I got to go the De Young Museum in San Francisco and see the Keith Haring exhibit The Political Line. I’m not sure if the exhibit is very popular, because it was a Saturday, or because there was 1 week left for this exhibit but the line to get in and buy tickets was the longest line of my life lol.
